SOC 16300 - Social Problems Major social problems in areas such as the family, religion, economic order, crime, mental disorders, civil rights; racial, ethnic, and international tensions. Relation to structure and values of the larger society. Although no prerequisite is required, it is strongly recommended that students have some previous social science coursework and/or familiarity with basic sociological concepts and methodology.
