TSAP in Sociology (B.A., VU)


We are excited that you are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.  You have taken an important step in this process by completing your TSAP Associate of Arts degree in Sociology at Vincennes University.  We are ready to help you start this leg of your journey.  The Purdue Fort Wayne TSAP on-campus or on-line program is designed with you, the learner, in mind. 

At the time you are admitted to the B.A. in Sociology program, you will declare your major with the Department of Anthropology and Sociology.

Program Requirements

  1. Students must complete the TSAP A.A. in Sociology program for admission to the TSAP B.A. program.
  2. No additional courses, beyond requirements for TSAP A.S. degree, are required for program admission.
  3. Students are strongly encouraged to choose a minor.
  4. An overall GPA of 2.00 or higher for all courses required in the major.  In addition, a C- or higher in all department courses is required for the major.
  5. All students in the B. A. in Sociology program are expected to meet the same student learning outcomes and program requirements. Additional program requirements exist for all students in the B.A. in Sociology; see the Program Description page for Sociology.
  6. You are responsible for satisfying the graduation requirements specified for your selected program.  Thus, it is essential that you develop a thorough understanding of the required courses, academic policies and procedures governing your academic career.  All requests for exceptions to specific requirements must be made in writing and may be granted only by written approval from the appropriate chair or dean.

  • At least 6 of the 15 additional Sociology elective credit hours required must be at the 2000+ level or above

Complete necessary electives to bring program total to 120 credits.  Students are strongly encouraged to use these credits to complete a Minor.
