Art And Design (B.F.A.) 4-Year Plan

This plan is an example only. Please see your advisor to develop your individualized plan. Course rotation and course offerings are subject to change based on faculty availability and enrollment minimums.
Each student enters the program as a Bachelor of Art (B.A.) degree student. Students wishing to pursue the Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A.) degree must submit a portfolio of their first and second year work to attain formal acceptance into the B.F.A. program.
- Studio Art Concentrations: Ceramics, Drawing, Metalsmithing, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture.
- Design Art Concentrations: Graphic Design, Imaging and Photography.
- Web Design with Elective Studies in Information Technology Concentration.

First Portfolio Review:
- First Portfolio Review - At the end of freshman year, or upon completion of 30 credit hours, of which 18 must be studio courses, students will submit their portfolio for review. The portfolio must contain 2 pieces from each studio course, representing the best and fullest range of work completed in the first-year courses. The minimum GPA requirement is 2.0. Successful students will progress to the sophomore year.
Second Portfolio Review:
Second Portfolio Review - At the end of sophomore year, or upon completion of 60 credit hours, of which 36 must be studio courses, students will submit their portfolio for review. The portfolio must contain 18 pieces representing the best and fullest range of work completed in the first and second-year courses. The minimum GPA requirement is 2.5. Successful students will progress to the junior year.

- Advanced Art History Course Cr. 3.
- Gen Ed B6 Humanistic/Artistic Course Cr. 3.
- Studio Concentration Course Cr. 3.

Spring 3rd Year:
- Gen Ed B5 Social/Behavioral Course Cr. 3.
