TSAP in Social Studies Teaching (Dual Degree)

The Associate of Science degree from Ivy Tech in Social Studies leads to a teaching license in Historical Perspectives (US and World History)
We are excited that you are pursuing a secondary teaching degree. At PFW, we offer secondary teaching licenses in collaboration with several different content areas. We do this through a Dual Degree program. This means that each student earns a degree in the content area as well as a separate degree in Secondary Education. Even though it is a dual degree program, we accept all 60 credits from the Ivy Tech Community College TSAP program and only require the remaining courses at PFW to complete degrees in History and Secondary Education.
The Associate of Science degree from Ivy Tech in Social Studies leads to a teaching license in Historical Perspectives (US and World History) plus a required teaching minor that could lead to an additional licensure area in one of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, Exceptional Needs-Mild Intervention, French, German, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Spanish.
At the time you are admitted to PFW, you will declare your major with the Department of History and the School of Education (Secondary Education) along with a minor from the list above.
