Theatre (BA) 4-Year Plan Directing (ODD Years)


B.A. Theatre 4-Year Plan Entering in an ODD numbered year (2023, 2025, 2027, etc.), this is the Theatre BA with a concentration in Directing.

In June 2021, the Purdue University Board of Trustees adopted a Civics Literacy Proficiency Requirement  for undergraduates, including all transfer students. This requirement applies to all undergraduate students who enter Purdue University Fort Wayne in Fall 2022 or any subsequent semester. There are three different pathways:

Civics Event pathway - Attend four approved civics-related events and pass the required exam; or

Civics Literacy Recordings pathway - Complete four recordings located in the Civics Literacy Brightspace module and pass the required exam; or

Approved course pathway - Complete any approved course and pass the required exam. The exam is independent of the approved course. Course options include both Gen Ed and Elective offerings.

    CHOOSE TWO TO THREE ELECTIVE, MAJOR, GENERAL EDUCATION OR CONCENTRATION COURSES Cr. 6-9.

    SUGGESTIONS:

    Major Course: THTR 36100 - Costume Design   Cr. 3.

    General Education: Any General Education course  still needed to graduate.

    Elective: Any elective from across the university curriculum of interest to the student.

    Theatre Elective/Concentration: Any theatre elective being offered of interest to the student.

     

    NB-One Design Choice is required for Theatre Core and another Design Choice is required for the Directing Concentration. Options are: THTR 36000 - Scenic Design, THTR 36100 - Costume Design, or  THTR 36200 - Light Design. In order to fulfill the Directing Concentration design requirement, Scenic Design specifically must be completed. For the major requirement, either Costume Design or Light Design are options. 

    If the student chooses not to take Costume Design this term, then swap out this option with a needed General Eduation or Elective course.
