Fall 1st Year

  Suggested concentration course: MUSC 10900 - Rudiments Of Music I  Cr. 2-4. AND/OR

  Any dance technique course AND/OR

  Starting one of three semesters of voice lessons in the Music School. 

Spring 1st Year

• THTR 16800 - Theatre Production I Cr. 1 or 2.
• THTR 21300 - Voice For The Actor Cr. 2.
• THTR 26500 - Introduction To Stage Management Cr. 3.
• THTR 28400 - Textual Analysis Cr. 3.

  CHOOSE COMBINATION OF ONE TO THREE ELECTIVE, MAJOR, CONCENTRATION OR GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES Cr. 3-9.

  SUGGESTIONS:

  Complete an approved General Education category A2 course, such as: THTR 11400 - Interpretation For Performance And Presentation  Cr. 3

  Complete one of three semesters of Voice lessons through the School of Music. Cr. 1. 

  Complete elective course  THTR 23800 - Acting II  Cr. 3. (The performance faculty strongly encourage Musical Theatre Concentration students to complete Acting II as an elective by the end of sophomore year.)

Fall 2nd Year

  One Category A3 course - STAT 12500 Communicating With Statistics  or MA 14000 Practical Quantitative Reasoning   or higher approved Mathematics course.

MAJOR: THTR 36100 - Costume Design   Cr. 3.

GENERAL EDUCATION /MAJOR: THTR 32510 - History Of Modern Drama   Cr. 3. NB-THTR 32510 fulfills both the major’s writing requirement and also a General Education B8 category. If using this class to cover both requirements, students are expected to make up the needed 3 credits in electives.

ELECTIVES: Student chooses freely across the university offerings. Cr. 3.
