The minor in forensic investigations offers students the opportunity to gain skills and understand the techniques used in criminal investigations. They will learn how to analyze crime scenes, collect and preserve evidence, and apply scientific methods to solve complex criminal cases. Legal and ethical considerations in forensic work will also be covered.

Program Requirements
- The minor requires 18 credit hours of specified courses with a minimum 2.00 grade point average.
- At least 9 resident credits must be at the 20000+ level.
- Declare this minor within the Department of Criminal Justice & Public Administration or through your major department.
- CRIM 10100 (The American Criminal Justice System) is a prerequisite to all CRIM courses and requires a grade of C- or better. This course can also be completed as part of the General Education Requirements (B5) or the College of Liberal Arts Thematic Area C.

Student Responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring that you satisfy all graduation requirements specified for each selected program. Thus, it is essential that you develop a thorough understanding of the required courses, academic policies, and procedures governing your academic career. If you cannot complete all program requirements by your stated graduation date but fail to remove those from your plan of study, the Registrar’s Office in consultation with your academic advisor will remove unmet pursuits from your plan of study. Changing curricular records during the graduation term of application may affect state or federal financial aid awards. All requests for exceptions to specific requirements must be made in writing and may be granted only by written approval from the appropriate chair or dean.
