This plan is an example only. Please see your advisor to develop your individualized plan. Course rotation and course offerings are subject to change based on faculty availability and enrollment minimums. At least one course used to fulfill the COLA Thematic Requirements must be from the list of approved courses meeting the Non-Western tradition. The list can be found here: College of Liberal Arts Thematic Requirements
SOC 16101 (Principles of Sociology) satisfies the COLA Thematic Requirement C (Institutions and Behaviors). Several other Sociology courses satisfy other COLA Thematic Requirements, see your advisor for details. A total of six credit hours of courses required for your major may count toward satisfying the Thematic Requirements. As noted above, one thematic requirement must be designated non-western.
NOTE: Students pursuing this double degree (BSED and BA) require a minor. They may choose a minor in any of the following programs, provided the minor is different than the major: Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, Exceptional Needs-Mild Intervention, French, German, History, Mathematics, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Spanish. Contact your advisor for assistance choosing your minor.
