The Political Science Department is an interdisciplinary home to multiple degrees that deal with fundamental institutional, social, and cultural issues in historical and contemporary, as well as local and global contexts. This department houses the Political Science BA and minor, the BA and minor in Economics, the Certificate of Civic Education and Public Advocacy, and the Certificate in Peace and Conflict Studies.  The university’s Pre-Law advisor is also available through this department.  The common thread that runs through our diverse academic programs is a commitment to advancing knowledge about systems of power, engagement and leadership, and civic life in a broad, inclusive perspective.
