COM 51200 - Theories Of Interpersonal Communication

Review of contemporary theories, analysis of concepts, models, and pertinent research across the broad spectrum of interpersonal communication.

Student Learning Outcomes
1.  Develop knowledge of the history and research practices associated with interpersonal communication theories.
2.  Articulate, critique, and elaborate on interpersonal theories across the contexts of interpersonal, health, and family communication.
3.  Practice and execute research skills appropriate for locating scholarship on an interpersonal theory.
4.  Practice writing skills, such as appropriate tone and voice, in composing coherent, logical and persuasive arguments regarding a communication phenomenon.
5.  Design and write a project (paper) that analyzes a communication problem through the lens of interpersonal theories.
