BIOL 55600 - Physiology I

The principles of physiology and their application to how animals function in different environments. An integration and coordination of functional relationships which occur in more than one group of animals. A comparative study of how genetically different and diverse animal groups respond and adapt their functional characteristics to the same environmental stimuli.

Cr. 3.
Student Learning Outcomes
1.  Understand the diversity of Functional biology from invertebrates to vertebrates. Examining how diverse organisms functionally accomplish equitable solutions while adapting to their diverse environments.
2.  Investigate the connection between structure and function of Earth’s faunal diversity and understand the evolutionary connectivity of functional biology and structural biology.
3.  Understand the principles of functional biology and how diverse animals survive and adapt to diverse environments while maintaining the internal environment and daily constitution necessary to survive and thrive.
