BIOL 54300 - Population Ecology A statistics course is recommended. Interactions that determine the dynamics, abundance, and persistence of natural populations. Topics include competition, predation and disease, metapopulations, computer simulation and data analysis, and discussions of classical and current literature.
Preparation for Course P: BIOL 21700, BIOL 21800, and BIOL 21900.

2. Understand the dynamics, abundance, and persistence of natural populations.
3. Understand the fine-scale details of competition and predation.
4. Understand wildlife diseases and their impacts.
5. Know how to read, and discuss scientific journal articles about the topic.
6. Develop, conduct, analyze, present population ecology research.
