BUS 23787 - Entrepreneurial Ventures Powered By IncubatorEdu



In this hands‐on course, students ideate, build, and iterate their new business ventures. Through mentorship, they develop hypotheses, test, and refine their new product or service. By the end of the course, students leave with a business model, minimum viable product, financial plan, and pitch deck, ready to take their business venture to the next level.

Student Learning Outcomes
1.  Create a business model canvas (BMC) that addresses a customer problem or market need, using major concepts and theories related to entrepreneurship and business development.
2.  Use inquiry-based learning to identify business risks, test hypotheses, and refine business assumptions, evaluating different explanations or approaches to solve business challenges.
3.  Gather and analyze data, such as customer feedback or market test results, using social and behavioral research methods to inform business model decisions.
4.  Use financial models to evaluate and explain a startup’s financial health, supporting conclusions about the behavior of startups or organizations in response to market conditions.
5.  Create and test a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to measure the feasibility of the product or service, drawing on diverse social, behavioral, or organizational insights to adapt to market needs.
6.  Develop a narrative for their business idea, incorporating an understanding of how social, behavioral, or historical knowledge can inform personal and professional decisions.
7.  Pitch their startup idea to professionals and industry experts, effectively communicating their business strategy and drawing on diverse social or market perspectives to support their pitch.
8.  Cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, such as resilience and curiosity, while enhancing their ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams to meet real-world challenges.
