PSY 47400 - Neuropsychological Assessment Of Human Memory
This course will introduce students to the field of clinical neuropsychology. It will cover basic principles related to testing and measurement of human memory in class, and students will gain an understanding of the practice of neuropsychological assessment via observations they complete in a community field placement. Course topics will include: principles of testing and measurement, theoretical models of human memory, basic neuroanatomy of memory, memory disorders, and ethics related to psychological testing.
Preparation for Course P: PSY 12000 and PSY 20100 each with a grade of C- or better. Instructor permission required.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Gain knowledge about the field of clinical neuropsychology.
2. Be exposed to some of the testing instruments used to assess human memory.
3. Observe neuropsychological assessment in a clinical setting.
4. Experience a variety of teaching and learning methods, including lectures, assigned readings, and practical experiences.
