PSY 30700 - Field Experience In Psychology
Supervised volunteer field work experiences in a setting appropriate to students’ interest and goals. Intended as an opportunity to integrate theory and practice.
Preparation for Course P: PSY 12000 and one of the following: PSY 23500, or PSY 24000, or PSY 26700, or PSY 35000, or PSY 35700, or PSY 36900, or PSY 42000, each with a grade of C- or better. Instructor permission required.
Cr. 3. Notes May be repeated for credit. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Apply concepts learned in previous psychology courses to real-world settings.
2. Develop practical skills such as communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork.
3. Build relationships with professionals in a career field relevant to the psychology major.
4. Develop cultural competence by working in diverse settings and engaging with individuals from different backgrounds.
5. Reflect on one’s own learning, experiences, and development.
