ECON 32900 - Introduction To Stata

An introduction to Stata statistical package for use in student research or in data-oriented courses. The course focuses on commonly used functions of Stata such as importing data, merging data files, editing data, summarizing data, data analysis, and presentation.

Preparation for Course
P: ECON 27000 or STAT 12500 or STAT 30100 with grade of C- or better, or departmental approval.
Junior or senior class standing.

1. Navigate in the Stata environment.
2. Create variables and edit datasets.
3. Upload, merge, and create datasets.
4. Use do-files and log-files.
5. Use Stata to present data using descriptive statistics and graphs.
6. Conduct simple and multiple regression analysis in Stata.
