GEOG 22000 - Global Climate Change
This course examines Earth’s climate and the changes that have occurred in the past and are occurring in the 21st Century. It will cover the basics of Earth’s energy and carbon budgets, and the nature of the atmosphere and oceans. Evidence that the climate is now rapidly changing will be covered, both globally and locally, as well as the prospects for future changes.

2. Describe Earth’s climate energy balance, including greenhouse effect.
3. Illustrate components of the Earth’s carbon cycle.
4. Summarize general circulation patterns in the atmosphere and oceans.
5. Describe climate oscillations such as the El-Niño Southern Oscillation, and their effect on global climate.
6. Analyze recent changes to Earth’s climate globally and locally.
7. Debunk common myths that either dismiss or exaggerate global climate change.
