CM 43000 - Properties And Behavior Of Soils
Identification and properties of soils with emphasis on laboratory and field-testing. Behavior of soils related to design and construction of structures and highways. Computer Applications.
Preparation for Course P: CM 16700.
Cr. 3. Hours Class 2, Lab 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Learn site specific field investigations of soils, including collection of soil samples for testing and observation of soil behavior/ building damage.
2. Identify and classify soils based on standard geotechnical engineering practice.
3. Conduct standard soil tests and measurements, interpret the results, and to apply the results to improve and solve engineering technology problems.
4. Communicate results by written, oral and graphical methods in both technical and non-technical environments.
5. Select the appropriate software, computational methods, hardware and analytical techniques related to construction engineering.
