CM 34400 - Construction Project Quality



Construction and design quality assurance. The role quality control plays in the execution of the construction contract. Includes Inspection trips to construction sites.

Preparation for Course
P: CM 22000 with grade of C- or better.

Student Learning Outcomes
1.  Distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable levels of quality in various trades and divisions of the work by applying appropriate underlying principles.
2.  Demonstrate skill in the use and interpretation of construction industry documents sufficient to justify (a) rejections, corrections, or acceptances of field work or (b) constructive review of original drawings, specifications, shop drawings, change orders, or other design documents.
3.  Become familiar with the professional and legal responsibilities of various entities involved in the traditional approach to project development, and to apply this understanding to problems in the administrative control of design, construction, and facilities management.
