CM 32400 - Sustainable Construction
This course provides students with an understanding of sustainability concepts and design principles as applied in building construction. The goal of this course is to help students develop the vocabulary and skills to become productive contributors to sustainable building project teams.
Preparation for Course P: CM 28100 with grade of C- or better.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Gain a working vocabulary and familiarity with “sustainable” technologies including business practices, site design, water conservation, materials, energy measures, and indoor environmental quality strategies in buildings.
2. Apply knowledge of different rating system for green buildings and lessons learned on sustainable projects to case studies.
3. Explain strengths and weaknesses of a chosen “sustainable” material or building technology through independent research.
