HSRV 32400 - Non-Profit Management
The focus of non-profit human services agencies is to serve clients as well as to function as a business. This course will provide information on managing non-profit agencies. Topics will include: working with a board of directors, budget, engagement with stakeholders, information dissemination, fundraising, grant writing, logic models, ethics, human resource and legal issues, marketing, strategic planning and program evaluation.
Preparation for Course P: HSRV 20100 and 25100 with grades of C- or better.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Develop a program design utilizing a logic model.
2. Critique peers’ logic models.
3. Develop key points of a strategic plan.
4. Analyze a basic budget.
5. Hypothesize shortfalls within a budget.
6. Develop key marketing areas.
7. Produce spreadsheets demonstrating the dissemination of information to stakeholders.
8. Predict what would happen if the Allen County System of Care organization ceased to exist.
