An intermediate level study of legal problems and issues associated with the music industry, including case studies, modern/emerging business models and music licensing.

P: MUSC 18203 with grade of C- or better and admitted into a program of the School of Music.

1. Navigate standard keys in various types of music contracts.
2. Demonstrate fluency and understanding of complex legal issues in regard to copyright, trademarks, and case law pertaining to music.
3. Engage in basic legal research using standard databases.
