MUSC 28211 - Perspectives In Music
Variable topic course designed to explore various styles, origins, influential performers, music, social, historical, and political contexts, and supportive technological advances of particular genres, styles, or time periods.
Preparation for Course P: Admitted into a program of the School of Music.
Cr. 3. Variable Title (V.T.) Notes May be repeated for credit. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Experience and investigate music from within a single genre, sphere of influence, or time period.
2. Introduce the history of a musical style, genre, or time period from a socio-cultural perspective.
3. Provide further opportunity for development of student’s aural ability to recognize musical styles and genres.
4. Develop vocabulary used to describe musical styles and performing practices.
