EDU 47500 - Adolescent Development And Classroom Management
Focuses on discipline approaches appropriate for middle and high school through an understanding of adolescents. Analysis of cognitive and moral development, puberty, environmental and cultural issues, family and peer relationships, identity formation, and social and personal problems. Provides tools to diagnose students’ behaviors and to establish learning climate.
Preparation for Course C: EDU 30100.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Explain various aspects of adolescent development and implications for teaching practices in secondary schools.
2. Analyze various classroom management situations and recommend appropriate classroom management strategies.
3. Apply principles of adolescent development and classroom management in a variety of classroom tasks and field experiences.
4. Articulate their own teaching philosophy for working with adolescents and managing classrooms in secondary schools.
