FNR 22500 - Dendrology
Field identification, taxonomy, and ecological characteristics of trees, shrubs, and herbs found in forests, prairies, old fields, and wetlands.
Preparation for Course P: BIOL 10800 or 11700 or 11900 (or equivalent).
Cr. 3. Hours Class 2, Lab. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Understand factors that control the distribution of major tree species that are native to forest regions of North America.
2. Gain exposure to silviculture, ecology, commercial, and wildlife uses of the tree species in various forest types.
3. Learn identifying characteristics of woody vegetation in North America, with emphasis on Indiana.
