CRIM 10100 - The American Criminal Justice System
Introduction to the criminal justice system of the U.S. and its function in contemporary society.
Cr. 3. Notes The American Criminal Justice System, CRIM 10100, is a prerequisite for all other criminal justice courses. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Understand the cause of crime and policies attempting to deal with crime are complex and often contradictory.
2. Recognize that each component of the criminal justice system is interdependent on the other components and that change in one component has implications throughout the entire criminal justice system.
3. Develop knowledge that will allow the student to critically evaluate various crime data, and the problem of crime in society.
4. Develop knowledge of the explanations of the public policies that attempt to deal with the problem.
