Student Learning Outcomes
1.  Evaluate the theoretical and experimental developments that contributed to modern solid-state physics.
2.  Interpret crystal structures and apply experimental techniques to determine them.
3.  Explain and analyze lattice vibrations and their significance in solid-state systems.
4.  Apply principles of quantum physics and statistical mechanics to derive and predict the electronic band structure of crystals.
5.  Analyze and compare the electrical, optical, and thermal properties of solids.
6.  Explain and evaluate the operation and significance of key solid-state devices.
