MA 46000 - Geometry



This course begins at the high-school level and then moves quickly to intermediate and advanced topics including an introduction to non-Euclidean geometry. Emphasis on proofs.

Preparation for Course
P: MA 26100 or MA 26300.

Student Learning Outcomes
1.  Learn geometry topics included in the Indiana state standards.
2.  Learn to solve a wide range of geometry problems.
3.  Learn the meaning of definition, axiom, theorem, and proof, and use these words correctly.
4.  Learn the proofs in book I of Euclid’s elements.
5.  Learn some basic ideas of non-Euclidean geometry.
