Student Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate the ability to understand literary works written in French.
2. Demonstrate the ability to identify key themes, narrative strategies, and artistic goals in literary works in French.
3. Demonstrate the ability to identify stylistic techniques and demonstrate understanding of them through textual analysis of literary works in French.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of literary genres such as poetry, theater, short story and novels, including their distinguishing characteristics and their connection to achieving artistic aims.
5. Demonstrate an understanding of the literary and philosophical movements (such as Romanticism, Realism and Existentialism) in which literary works developed.
6. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of French literature after the Revolution.
