Student Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate understanding of major literary currents from the Middle Ages and the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries (humanism, classicism, Enlightenment, etc.).
2. Demonstrate understanding of the fundamental and representative works by major French writers from the studied periods.
3. Demonstrate understanding of the historical, social and literary context of 2-3 representative works for each period studied.
4. Demonstrate the ability to analyze literary works in both oral and written formats.
5. Demonstrate the ability to put into practice the key skills required for literary analysis.
6. Demonstrate improved spoken and written abilities in French.
