ENGL 10700 - Masterpieces Of Asia
An introduction to the literature of Asia focusing on literary masterpieces of India, China, Japan, and other countries.
Preparation for Course P: Placement at or above ENGL 13100 (or Equivalent) and Exemption from or Completion of ENGL 15000.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Read critically, summarize, and synthesize information and concepts pertaining to literatures of Asia as the basis for developing original ideas and claims.
2. Apply disciplinary methodologies, epistemologies, and traditions of the humanities and the arts, including the ability to distinguish primary and secondary sources.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of literatures of Asia as related and distinct literary and cultural traditions.
4. Respond in writing to these texts in their cultural, intellectual, and historical contexts.
5. Use textual evidence to support arguments/theses.
6. Use library databases to access scholarly sources for research, where applicable.
7. Cite and document accurately primary and secondary sources using the MLA format, where applicable.
