EDU 47000 - Practicum



Teaching or experience under the direction of an identified supervising teacher with university-provided supervision in the endorsement or minor area, and at the level appropriate to the area, and in an accredited school within the State of Indiana unless the integral program includes experience in an approved and accredited out-of-state site. The practicum may be full or part time. The amount of credit granted will be commensurate with the amount of time spent in the instructional meeting.

Student Learning Outcomes
1.  Comprehend relevant legislation related to assessment.
2.  Describe, analyze, and demonstrate major diagnostic test strategies and interpret data.
3.  Use formal and informal assessment procedures and interpret results.
4.  Combine assessment data and lesson planning/implementation into a case study summary.
5.  Demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity for special needs testing, including ability level, cultural, and SES issues.
6.  Describe and discuss the legal and ethical considerations in assessment.
7.  Select assessment methods and instruments to meet individual needs of students.
8.  Read and interpret a psychological report typically used for determination of eligibility for students to receive special education services.
