EDU 44800 - Methods Of Teaching High School Mathematics

Prepares prospective teachers to design and apply methods of teaching mathematics at the secondary level. Public school participation required.

Student Learning Outcomes
1. Develop understanding of student learning and development in middle and high school mathematics.
2. Develop understanding of the scope and significance of middle and high school mathematics through an examination of state and national standards and mathematics education research.
3. Develop professionally through the demonstration of professional attitudes and work habits as well as the identification of professional organizations and resources that are available locally and nationally.
4. Continue learning mathematics, especially in ways that promote inquiry, investigation, problem solving and collaboration.
