EDU 33300 - Inquiry In Mathematics And Science
Focuses on planning and managing appropriate science and math experiences with children who are 3 to 8 years of age. Opportunity for exploring, developing, experimenting, and evaluating instructional materials and their inherent possibilities for children’s learning. Planning appropriate inquiry-oriented experiences will be stressed.
Preparation for Course C: EDU 40100.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Identify and illustrate the integration of developmental learning, topic criteria, and learning standards for mathematical and scientific study in early childhood: IELF/INK-8 What I Don’t Know Video, Identifying Topic Criteria, Topic Web, and Integrating Foundations Topic Web.
2. Prepare and demonstrate the development of ongoing math and science learning experiences for young children: Grow a Sensory Table Video.
3. Analyze and explain the cycle of curriculum and assessment in math and science learning for young children: Strategies for Collecting Data Paper, Documenting Sensory Table Learning.
4. Create and validate a reflective analysis of learning, documenting the stages, theories, practices, and perspectives of integrating math and science in early childhood curriculum and assessment: Final Prezi, the culmination of Weekly Discussions.
