DANC 10300 - Jazz Dance I



A study of jazz dance, including early jazz and musical comedy as well as contemporary styles. Emphasis on current locomotor jazz techniques.

May be repeated for up to six credits. Credit may be granted by audition.
Student Learning Outcomes
1.  Perform basic skills of the body including coordination, proper alignment, and musicality through movement phrases and exercises aligned with Jazz Dance Techniques.
2.  Demonstrate an elementary understanding of core principles, techniques and histories under the broad umbrella of Jazz Dance Technique.
3.  Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of Jazz Dance vocabulary and basic body anatomy.
