CSD 18200 - Second Course In American Sign Language
Development of conversational skills, vocabulary, and basic grammar of sign language.
Preparation for Course P: CSD 18100 or Equivalent.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Develop an increased understanding of the history of ASL including linguistic roots in non-English spoken languages.
2. Increase receptive and expressive skills in fingerspelling.
3. Choose appropriate, conceptually accurate signs for topics such as telling directions.
4. Express thoughts and ideas in ASL without depending on English linguistic structure.
5. Express events in a narrative format using linguistic components of ASL.
6. Compare and contrast the culture of people who use ASL and other signed languages throughout the world.
