CLCS 20500 - Classical Mythology
An introduction to Greek and Roman myths, legends, and tales, especially those that have an important place in the Western cultural tradition.
Preparation for Course P: ENGL 13100 with grade of C- or better (or Equivalent).
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Identify the texts, authors, and relative times of the ancient texts.
2. Recognize the source of a quotation based on the details within quotations.
3. Describe readings in your own words.
4. Analyze readings to deduce cultural knowledge from distant texts.
5. Define key concepts for the study of mythology.
6. Connect key concepts to moments from primary texts read for class.
7. Compare and contrast modern interpretations of myth with ancient versions.
