BIOL 53300 - Medical Microbiology
Host-parasite relationships, immunology, bacteria, and viruses associated with infectious diseases.

Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Explain the molecular basis of infectious diseases and evaluate approaches for their treatment and prevention.
2. Analyze the historical context of significant infectious diseases to evaluate how past discoveries, epidemics, and public health responses have shaped current understanding and practices.
3. Analyze primary scientific literature critically by identifying and summarizing key points, assessing experimental design, results, and conclusions, interpreting data from diverse experimental systems, and designing rigorous follow-up experiments.
4. Communicate scientific concepts effectively to both professional and lay audiences through written and oral formats.
