ANTH 44501 - History And Theory Of Anthropology
An examination of the historical development of the field of anthropology concentrating upon the intellectual roots and context that surrounded its emergence, as well as contemporary problems, perspectives, methods, and theories.
Preparation for Course P: ANTH 10501 and 20001 with grades of C- or better.
Cr. 3. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Demonstrate familiarity with key concepts, theories, perspectives and schools of thought in biological, cultural, linguistic and archaeological anthropology.
2. Demonstrate the ability to think critically about a range of concepts and ideas in anthropology and how they can be productively applied.
3. Demonstrate the ability to produce an original work on the creation and application of anthropological theory.
4. Understand how to leverage the skills and knowledge gained in studying anthropology to help you succeed in the professional world.
