PHYS 32500 - Scientific Computing Programming in FORTRAN. Numerical techniques in integration, root finding, and solution of systems of ordinary and partial differential equations occurring in physics. These techniques will be applied to problems in classical, quantum, and statistical physics, including non-linear and chaotic systems. Includes use of mathematical subroutine libraries and introduction to Monte Carlo methods.
Prerequisite(s) for Course P: PHYS 25100 (or equivalent) and sophomore or higher class standing.
