MET 21600 - Machine Elements


CR: 3 - 4.  The design and analysis of machine components with emphasis on safety factors based on various failure theories in consideration of fluctuating loads, stress concentration, and other factors affecting failure. A study of standard machine elements such as brakes, clutches, belts, chains, gears, screws, springs, and bearings; their application, operational behavior, efficiency, economy, and standardization.
