Articulation Agreements

Purdue University Fort Wayne (PFW) supports students who begin their academic career at other institutions via our robust transfer policies. Faculty and leaders in specific departments have created articulation agreements with institutions in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Texas for specific programs. These agreements are designed to serve students who earn their Associate Degree in a designated field of study. We also follow state regulations by offering a number of Transfer Single Articulation Pathway (TSAP) program options (see below). Each agreement specifies that students must complete the Associate Degree with a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. Only courses with a grade of C- or better can be transferred to PFW. Any course with a grade of less than C- will be marked as TX and you will see “LG” in myBLUEprint – this indicates to you and your Academic Advisor that one or more courses need to be repeated. Other codes in myBLUEprint are CO and IP, meaning all articulation agreement criteria have been completed and criteria are still in progress, respectively.

In addition to these agreements, we have a “Guaranteed Admission Agreement” with Ivy Tech Community College. This agreement allows students who earn an Associate degree (AA, AS, or AAS) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in specified programs guaranteed admission to PFW (once admission application is completed). We have agreements with 16 institutions in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Ohio, and Texas. Institutions include: Edison Community College (OH), Henry Ford College (MI), Ivy Tech Community College (IN), Joilet Junior College (IL), Macomb Community College (MI), Monroe County Community College (MI), Montcalm College (MI), Northwest State Community College (OH), Rhodes State College (OH), Schoolcraft College (MI), South Texas State College (TX), Southwestern Michigan College (MI), Clinton Community College - SUNY (NY), Genesee Community College - SUNY (NY), Terra State Community College (OH), and Washtenaw Community College (MI).

TSAP - Indiana Transfer Single Articulation Pathway

Since 2013, the Commission for Higher Education has worked with state institutions in Indiana to create single articulation pathways (known as the Transfer Single Articulation Pathway or TSAP) in specific content areas. The courses mapped for a TSAP associate’s degree are based upon a set of competencies agreed upon across all of the public institutions and are the minimum competencies for transfer in this major. It is important that individual students review the published TSAP admission criteria at the specific university/campus to which they wish to transfer. Understanding admission and degree requirements will facilitate student success. Purdue Fort Wayne is committed to the success of TSAP students, and student success is a three-way partnership among students and the academic advisors at both institutions. A lack of communication after students enroll in a TSAP could result in a misunderstanding of the admission requirements to a specific four-year institution and/or TSAP program, such as minimum grades, specific course sequences, etc., and such misunderstanding could affect the time to graduation. Thus, successfully completing a public 2-year TSAP degree track is neither a guarantee of admission to a public 4-year institution nor a guarantee of admission to an aligned degree program at the public 4-year institution, since Purdue Fort Wayne program-specific requirements are not covered by the TSAP agreements.
