The Strategic Communication concentration is designed to educate students to become better communicators across both personal and professional contexts. Students will learn about conflict management, group interaction, leadership, and relational dynamics. Through individual choices, students may also select supporting courses in areas of public relations, family communication, health communication, and gender. The concentration prepares students for work in a variety of areas, including government, not-for-profit, sales, public services, public relations, human resources, and corporate positions.
Student Leaning Outcomes for the Stratetic Communication Concentration:
Upon completion of this concentration, students will be able to:
- Evaluate interpersonal, group and organizational interactions
- Communicate competently (effectively, appropriately, ethically) interpersonally in groups, and in organizational contexts
