Collegiate Connection

The Purdue University Fort Wayne Collegiate Connection program permits students to experience college while they are still in high school. Collegiate Connection students may take any Purdue University Fort Wayne course that is appropriate for a college freshman either at the campus or online.

In addition, the Purdue University Fort Wayne Collegiate Connection high school program has partnered with participating high schools in Indiana to offer college credit courses at your high school during the regular school day.  These Dual Credit courses are taught by Purdue University Fort Wayne certified high school teachers and receive a substantial tuition discount. Moreover, some high schools have entered into a formal agreement with Purdue Fort Wayne to offer the Indiana College Core Certificate.  This program consists of 30 credit hours toward general education requirements of which a minimum of 15 credits must be completed at PFW in order to qualify for the certificate. See the website for a complete listing of participating schools and course offerings.

Successful students:

  • Get an early start on their college degree, which gives the student more flexibility as a full-time college student. Many students find they are able to pursue second majors, study abroad, complete internships, or finish their degree early.
  • Begin building a college transcript. Most courses are transferable to other colleges and universities.
  • Gain access to Purdue University Fort Wayne’s vast, state-of-the-art technology and resources.
  • Satisfy the Indiana high school Academic Honors diploma requirements.
  • Take additional courses designed for high-achieving students.
  • Develop the critical thinking, writing, and reading skills that will prepare students for success in college.
  • Students completing the Indiana College Core must complete each course with a grade of C- or better and have an overall GPA of 2.0 in the program.
