TSAP in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E., Ivy Tech)

We are excited that you are pursuing a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) with a major in Mechanical Engineering.  You have taken an important step in this process by completing your TSAP Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ivy Tech Community College. We are ready to help you start this leg of your journey.  The Purdue Fort Wayne TSAP on-campus program is designed with you, the learner, in mind.

The Mechanical Engineering (BSME) program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org, under the General Criteria and the Mechanical and Similarly Named Engineering Programs Criteria.

At the time you are admitted to the B.S. program, you will declare your major with the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering.

Program Requirements

  1. Completion of the TSAP A.S. degree at Ivy Tech Community College is required for admission to the TSAP B.S. degree; only DESN 271 (see below) may counted beyond the 70 credits required at ITCC toward the B.S.M.E. degree.
  2. Cumulative GPA requirement for graduation and Major GPA requirement for graduation - The required courses in ENGR, ME, and ECE as well as the technical elective courses must have a combined minimum GPA of 2.0.
  3. All students in the B.S.M.E. with a major in Mechanical Engineering program are expected to meet the same student learning outcomes and program requirements. Additional program requirements exist for all students in the B.S.M.E. with a major in Mechanical Engineering; see the Program Description page for Mechanical Engineering.
  4. You are responsible for satisfying the graduation requirements specified for your selected program.  Thus, it is essential that you develop a thorough understanding of the required courses, academic policies and procedures governing your academic career.  All requests for exceptions to specific requirements must be made in writing and may be granted only by written approval from the appropriate chair or dean.
  5. List of Major and supporting courses required at PFW; total credits in program = 120.
