This program is designed to prepare nurses for an advanced practice role to care for adult and geriatric patients in a variety of settings. The domains of focus include management of the patient/illness, the nurse practitioner-patient relationship, the teaching-coaching function, professional role, managing and negotiating healthcare delivery systems, monitoring and ensuring quality of healthcare practice, and culturally sensitive care. This 46 credit hour program includes approximately 600 hours in supervised clinical practice. The program is designed to be completed in eight semesters or three calendar years. At the completion of this program, graduates will be eligible for certification as an advanced practice provider.
