Folklore Minor

The minor in folklore familiarizes you with the international body of folklore as well as the theories, techniques, and history of folkloristics. The folklore minor is particularly appropriate for degree programs in anthropology, education, English, history, sociology, and other humanities and social sciences.  This program is available to all IPFW students except those pursuing the teacher-certification concentration with a major in English.

You may earn a minor in folklore by completing the following credits with a grade of C- or better in each course.  At least 6 credits must be earned as resident credit at the 200 level or above.

You may contact the Department of English and Linguistics or your primary advisor/major advisor to declare this minor.

 

Program Requirements


  • Credits in additional courses, including at least two courses above the 200 level in folklore or in folklore-related courses in anthropology, classics, or other disciplines approved by the department:  9 Credits
