As of Fall 2010, we will no longer be accepting new students into this program. Students currently in the program will need to complete the program by Fall 2013. Students not in the program may continue to take these courses as electives.

To earn the master’s degree with a major in elementary education and a minor in reading, you must satisfactorily complete the following program:

Introduction to M.S.Ed. Program: (6 credits - first two courses)

EDUA F500 - Topical Exploration in Education Cr. 1-15
Seminar: Learning, Teaching, Leading Cr. 3.
EDUC M501 - Laboratory/Field Experience Cr. 0-3.
Field Experience: Service Learning for Diversity Cr. 0. (minimum 10 hrs.)
EDUC P503 - Introduction to Research Cr. 3.

Two Portfolio Checkpoints:

After 18 hours of credit in M.S.Ed. program,* and
After 33 hours of credit in M.S.Ed. program*
