Intensive review of grammar and development of vocabulary, reading, conversation, and writing skills. Reading and discussion of modern French fiction and nonfiction, some composition.

Weekly attendance in audio laboratory required. In general, grades of Incomplete are not given in 100- and 200-level language courses. IPFW students with an appropriate command of French may apply for a year’s study, with full credit, in the IU program at the University of Provence; participation is not limited to French majors. For one semester or one summer of study abroad, there are French programs in Paris, Rennes, Rouen, and Quebec.
