CSD 49000 - Directed Study Of Special Problems
Research conducted under the supervision of a faculty member. Students may be involved in any stage of the research process including literature review, methodology, data collection, data analysis, and dissemination. Projects may include areas such as speech-language pathology, audiology, or linguistic research. All projects must be developed in collaboration with the faculty member supervising the student’s research.
Preparation for Course P: Restricted to Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) majors. Instructor permission required.
Cr. 1 to 6. Notes May be repeated for credit for a total of 6 credit hours. Student Learning Outcomes 1. Evaluate scholarly literature critically in the chosen area of study, identifying gaps, trends, and theoretical frameworks.
2. Demonstrate ethical research practices, including responsible data collection, analysis, and reporting.
3. Engage in reflective inquiry, assessing the implications of the research for clinical practice, policy, education, or further study.
4. Collaborate professionally with faculty mentors, incorporating feedback and guidance into the development and refinement of the work.
